- Weekly Hours: 32-40 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
- Schedule: Rotating days, with occasional weekends and holidays
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,130-$1,210
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least 1 year of experience in phlebotomy, donor collection, blood bank support, or a related clinical setting preferred
- Prior experience with whole blood collections and/or therapeutic phlebotomy strongly preferred
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required and maintained as applicable
- Proficiency using computers and laptops
- Experience with 16-gauge needles, pint unit collection, and donor screening preferred
- Knowledge of blood groups, Rh types, and donation procedures preferred for advanced consideration
Responsibilities
- Screen donors to confirm eligibility and support a safe, positive donation experience
- Perform whole blood collections and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures
- Collect blood at on-site and off-site donation events as needed
- Prepare, label, and document blood components and samples accurately
- Maintain complete donor records, including data entry and deferral documentation
- Support donor recruitment efforts and provide excellent customer service
- Monitor supplies, complete inventory checks, and restock donor care materials
- Obtain specimens from donors and patients following established procedures
- Keep work areas clean, sanitary, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Follow departmental policies, procedures, and emergency preparedness guidelines
