This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule/Shift
3 12-hour shifts per week; 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with 2 weekend shifts (4 shifts) within a 4-week schedule.
Job Description
As a Registered Nurse in the Medical-Surgical unit, you will provide essential care to patients with neurological conditions. The unit consists of 20 beds and maintains a patient ratio of 6:1. You will utilize equipment such as IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and bladder scanners. The documentation system used is Meditech.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and their families.
- Engage in bedside shift reporting to enhance communication.
- Ensure patient involvement in their care plans.
- Perform basic nursing tasks including starting IVs, wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains and tubes.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to prioritize patient care and multitask effectively.
Required Experience
- Active RN license.
- BLS certification.
- Med/Surg experience preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active RN license.
- BLS certification required.
