ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (Day Shift) in Austin, Texas.

This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule/Shift
Day shift, 09:30 AM to 06:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with call requirements of 2-3 shifts per 4-week schedule. Weekends will include call only.
Job Description
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) provides care for patients recovering from anesthesia. The unit has 16 beds and typically operates with a patient ratio of 1:1 or 2:1. Equipment utilized includes IV pumps, arterial lines, bipaps, chest tubes, bladder scans, and dopplers for pulse checks. The unit utilizes Meditech EMR for documentation.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia.
- Administer prescribed medications and fluids as needed.
- Perform necessary assessments and document in Meditech EMR.
- Assist in procedures such as nerve blocks and lumbar punctures.
- Report any changes in patient condition to the physician.
Required Experience
- Must have current PALS, ACLS, and BLS certifications.
- Prior experience in PACU or critical care settings is highly preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
Current RN licensure is required. PALS, ACLS, and BLS certifications are mandatory.
