Schedule/Shift
Day Shift: 10:00 AM - 7:30 PM. On-call during the week after 9:30 PM and on weekends from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
Job Description
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at CJW Johnston-Willis Hospital provides critical monitoring and care for patients recovering from surgery. The unit features 19 main PACU beds and 4 Atrium PACU beds, staffed by a dedicated team of 13 full-time personnel including registered nurses and clinical coordinators. The PACU utilizes advanced equipment, such as ventilators and Phillips and GE monitors, ensuring the highest standard of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Administer patient care and monitoring in the PACU setting, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Set up PCA pumps and manage drip titration.
- Perform arterial line blood draws as necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Meditech EMR system.
Required Experience
- Must have experience in PACU or ICU nursing.
- Strong neuro background is required.
- Ventilator competency is essential.
Certifications/Licensure
- ACLS certification is required.
- PALS certification is required.
