This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule/Shift
Shift starts at 6:30 AM and ends at 5:00 PM. This position requires full-time hours with 1-2 late shifts per week. Call is required on rotating weekends.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will be a key member of the surgical team at TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center, focusing primarily on orthopedic and spine procedures, while also supporting general, vascular, urology, gynecology, neuro, ENT, podiatry, bariatric, and robotic services as needed. The unit is equipped with 5 operating rooms and 1 cystoscopy room, typically running 4-5 ORs per day. Nurses will collaborate closely with a daily board runner, a circulator, a scrub, and a first assistant assigned to each room.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preoperative and postoperative care.
- Coordinate with surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records using the Meditech documentation system.
- Monitor patient status throughout procedures and respond to any changes in condition.
Required Experience
Candidates must hold a current TN RN license and have BLS certification. Experience in orthopedic and spine procedures is preferred, as well as experience in other service lines such as general, vascular, urology, gynecology, neuro, ENT, podiatry, bariatric, and robotic surgeries.
