This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule/Shift
Shift consists of 3x12 hour days with weekend coverage every other weekend.
Job Description
This position is on an inpatient unit focused on stroke and TIA patients, as well as higher acuity medical-surgical patients. The unit emphasizes patient experience and supports various procedures, including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation. The medication system utilized is Omnicell.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients.
- Monitor and manage patient conditions, implementing care plans as required.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and ensure accurate documentation within the Epic system.
- Facilitate patient education and support throughout their treatment journey.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives focusing on patient experience.
Required Experience
- At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a medical-surgical or telemetry unit.
- EPIC charting system experience is mandatory.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active Registered Nurse license in Tennessee.
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
