This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

3x12-hour night shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week with every other weekend required. Float may be required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care in a Clinical Decision Unit and Med-Surg Telemetry setting, focusing on patients with cardiac conditions, congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), stroke, chest pain, post-operative orthopedic cases, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and EENT patients. Experience with cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation is essential. The RN will manage IV starts, blood products, oxygen therapy, and participate in rapid-response and code situations. Familiarity with the charting system (Allscripts or Cerner) is important for accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry for patients.
• Administer medications and manage IVs, including blood products and insulin protocols.
• Provide care for patients experiencing CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) and stroke care.
• Participate in rapid response and code situations effectively.
• Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and PPE protocols.
• Assist with total joint replacements and postoperative care.

Required Experience

A minimum of 2 years of RN experience is required. First-time travelers are accepted, but candidates must have a permanent address outside a 75-mile radius of the facility.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current WV or Compact RN license (pending license accepted for submission).
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
