Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule/Shift
Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM with weekend requirements. No on-call duties are required.
Job Description
The Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) consists of 34 beds and is staffed by 9 nurses and 4 patient care technicians. This unit is focused on providing high-quality care to patients requiring continuous monitoring and assessment. The Registered Nurse will work closely with the healthcare team, providing care for patients who may have complex medical needs.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient conditions and vital signs using bedside monitors.
- Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed.
- Participate in emergency procedures, including chest tube placements and bedside bronchoscopy.
- Assist with various procedures such as midline or PICC line placements.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Required Experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
- Experience in an intermediate care or similar nursing unit.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current RN license in the state of Texas.
- Certification in CATN or TCAR or TCCN is preferred but not required.
