Job Description

The Registered Nurse in this role will provide competent and appropriate nursing care to the med/surg population. The nurse will perform thorough assessments systematically and accurately while maintaining complete and accurate documentation in accordance with guidelines. This role emphasizes patient-centered care, professional responsibility, and safety in line with National Patient Safety Goals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients from pediatric to geriatric stages of development.
• Deliver direct patient care, demonstrating competent clinical skills and knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures.
• Document components of the nursing process and patient progress toward outcomes, including patient education.
• Demonstrate knowledge of policies and procedures, identifying areas for growth in clinical practice.
• Maintain a positive, courteous approach while interacting with patients, families, and co-workers.
• Follow safety protocols, including the use of two patient identifiers and safe transfer techniques.
• Individualize patient care according to procedures and anesthesia types.
• Participate in pre-operative and postoperative assessments and education for patients and their families.
• Support the timely completion of patient testing, ensuring appropriateness of pre-admission orders.

Required Experience

• 1 year of nursing experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS certification is required.
• Valid RN License is required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
