Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Step-Down unit will be responsible for providing care to patients with conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), those recovering from heart catheterization and vascular procedures, and patients experiencing respiratory failure. This role involves monitoring vital signs, performing neurovascular checks, and ensuring the administration of medications and drips as required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Step-Down unit.
- Conduct frequent monitoring of vital signs and perform neurovascular checks.
- Administer medications, including IV, blood products, and emergency medications.
- Manage and monitor patients on BiPAP, CPAP, and Vapotherm.
- Provide post-operative care and follow-up for patients after heart catheterization and vascular procedures.
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and ensure effective communication with patients and their families.
Required Experience
- 2+ years of recent Step-Down nursing experience.
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
- Familiarity with IV start and maintenance, including PICC line management.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- NIHSS certification required.
