Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in a Level Three Trauma unit. The unit consists of 20 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 4:1. The nurse will utilize the Meditech documentation system and work alongside a supportive team, including unit secretaries and paramedic techs.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Perform trauma-related procedures such as chest tube insertion and central line placement.
• Utilize appropriate medical equipment and maintain a safe patient environment.
• Document patient care and activities accurately in Meditech.

Required Experience

• Must have experience in trauma nursing.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RN licensure in the state of Tennessee.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC.
