This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

3 shifts per week, 12 hours each. Night Shift from 19:00 to 07:30. Every other weekend is required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department will provide critical care to patients with a variety of urgent health concerns. This role involves interpreting and managing heart rhythm changes, administering blood products, managing central lines, and caring for critically ill patients. The RN will be responsible for administering IV sedation and vasopressors, caring for stroke patients, and managing ventilated patients.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and manage heart rhythm changes (dysrhythmias).
• Care for critically ill patients with multi-organ issues.
• Administer blood products and manage central lines.
• Start and maintain IVs, administer IV sedation and vasopressors.
• Provide care for stroke (CVA) and ventilated patients.
• Manage BiPAP/CPAP and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Follow isolation precautions and perform triage as needed.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1.5 years of nursing experience.
• At least 2 years of recent experience in the Emergency Department.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active RN license in New York or compact state.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS.
• If not licensed in NY, must have applied and provide application date.
