Night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Registered Nurse in the Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown Unit. This unit focuses on adult patients with various conditions, including stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, COPD, CHF, and more. You will be responsible for providing high-quality care, monitoring patient conditions, and utilizing specialty equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients recovering from strokes and other medical conditions.
- Monitor vital signs and patient progress.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Use IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes effectively.
- Document patient care and interactions in EPIC EMR.
- Participate in patient care planning and team meetings.
- Float to other units as required.
Required Experience
- 2+ years of nursing experience, including experience in a stroke stepdown unit.
- Recent travel experience is required.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification (can be obtained prior to start).
- NURSYS report for license verification required.
