40 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. No weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join a community-based oncology practice that is part of a nationally recognized, NCI-designated cancer center. This small practice includes a physician, an advanced practice provider, a licensed practical nurse, an ambulatory technician, and three registered nurses. The infusion assignment encompasses a mixture of hematology, oncology, monoclonals, and non-oncology referral infusions, with a typical infusion assignment for up to eight patients and chemotherapy teaching at the chairside. The maximum daily infusion capacity is 24 patients.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and other infusion therapies as per the treatment plan.
• Provide patient education and chairside teaching regarding chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
• Monitor patients for side effects and respond promptly to any adverse reactions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document infusion therapy administered.
• Collaborate with the oncology care team to optimize patient care.

Required Experience

• 2 to 3 years of recent infusion experience required, with outpatient clinic experience highly desired.
• Strong IV/vascular access and port access skills.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and the oncology care team.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current, unencumbered New York State RN licensure.
• ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification required.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Experience with Epic EMR and Alaris infusion pumps.
