Night Shift, 7P-7A, 36 hours guaranteed per week. Requires 2 weekend shifts every pay period.

Job Description

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Medical City McKinney comprises 46 total beds including 16 private and 15 semi-private rooms. The average census is 34 patients, managed by a dedicated team of 74 staff members. The unit is equipped with IV pumps, Sara Stedy lifts, roving B450 monitors, and utilizes Meditech for electronic medical records. Nurses in this unit will care for patients requiring intermediate-level care.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and manage titratable drips, including heparin, Cardizem, and Cardene.
• Provide respiratory support, including Bipap and high-flow oxygen therapy.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure appropriate patient care and documentation.
• Monitor patient status and report any changes to the charge nurse or physician.
• Participate in patient and family education regarding care and discharge planning.

Required Experience

• At least one year of experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage IV drips and monitor patients effectively.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RN license in the state of Texas.
• ACLS Certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification.
