This position requires a Day Shift schedule, specifically working 12-hour shifts from 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while fostering a commitment to patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans.
• Identify educational needs and goals for each patient based on their nursing assessment and collaborate with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates during team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
• Engage in the patient rehabilitation program on an assigned unit, ensuring direct care through assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, focusing on patient and family education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching on the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to maintain continuity of care and patient safety.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, using problem-solving techniques to organize and prioritize care.
• Promote a safe and supportive work environment through effective communication and teamwork.

Required Experience

• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH Only).
