This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule/Shift
12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, every other weekend as scheduled. Holiday requirement if needed.
Job Description
The Medsurg Tele Float Nurse will work across various inpatient units, including medical/surgical, step-down, and ICU, based on competency. The nurse will manage a patient population that varies by unit, dealing primarily with cardiac, ortho/neuro, surgical, and medical cases. Responsibilities also include monitoring telemetry for patients and managing titratable drips in the step-down areas.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients across various units, including telemetry readings.
- Manage medications and titrate IV drips as per unit protocol.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to provide optimal patient care.
- Document patient information accurately using the EPIC charting system.
- Adhere to patient ratios: Med/surg 1:6, Step-down 1:4/5, ICU 1:2/3.
Required Experience
Med/Surg nursing experience is required. Step-down experience is preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
