This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule/Shift
This position requires a Day Shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with 3-4 weekend shifts required per scheduling period.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit will work in a 32-bed unit with a patient ratio of 2:1. The unit specializes in cardiogenic shock and provides critical care. Nurses will utilize advanced equipment, including Hill-Rom beds and Phillips telemetry monitors, and work with the Meditech documentation system. The unit has student nurse externs available as techs and a unit secretary available Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Administer patient care in a critical care environment with a focus on cardiogenic shock patients.
- Perform procedures including central line insertion, Swan-Ganz catheter insertion, and intubations.
- Utilize advanced monitoring techniques, including PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring, IABP, and Impella.
Required Experience
Candidates must have cardiac experience and strong critical care experience.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification required.
