This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

The position consists of 4x12 hour night shifts, from 1900 to 0730. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend and may change based on need.

Job Description

This role focuses on providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a telemetry unit, including those with higher oxygen demands, dialysis patients, atrial fibrillation, and post-heart catheterization. The ideal candidate will have experience with step-down patients from ICU and be familiar with managing drips such as heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation. The nurse will work within a supportive interdisciplinary team that includes IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage patient care in a telemetry unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including cardiac drips (no titration).
• Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in condition.
• Provide assistance with procedures related to post cardiac angiograms and management of hemodialysis.
• Maintain accurate telemetry and patient care records using the EPIC charting system.
• Float to other medical-surgical units as needed based on patient census and staffing requirements.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar unit.
• 1 year of experience with EPIC charting system is required.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• NIHSS certification is required.
• Active RN license for the state of Tennessee is required.
