Shift hours: 7a-7p, alternating 7p-7a; Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend; Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed.

Job Description

The Labor and Delivery unit at Rochester General Hospital accepts all pregnant patients at any gestational age, providing comprehensive care including pre and postnatal assessment. This opportunity involves monitoring labor, assisting in vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and supporting postpartum recovery. The unit is equipped with advanced fetal monitoring technology and provides a family-centered environment, offering private birthing suites and lactation support.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate for C-sections.
• Monitor patients during labor and assist with any complications.
• Administer medications including Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, and Terbutaline.
• Perform assessments including APGAR scores and manage postpartum care.
• Utilize EFM for continuous fetal monitoring.
• Provide education and support to new mothers regarding childbirth and infant care.

Required Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery settings required. Candidates must have proficient experience with EPIC charting system.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active New York Single State RN license required (NY is not Compact).
• Certifications in OB-ACLS or ACLS, BLS, and EFM are mandatory.
• NRP certification required.
