Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing respiratory care to patients in a fast-paced hospital environment. This includes administering treatments, operating equipment such as ventilators and nebulizers, and performing arterial blood gas analyses. The unit has a total of 430 beds, and the team is comprised of 25 members. The EMR system in use is Meditech.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapies, treatments, and educate patients and families about respiratory care.
• Operate and maintain various respiratory equipment including BIPAP/CPAP and ventilators.
• Perform arterial blood gas tests and interpret results.
• Collaborate with medical staff to develop and evaluate patient care plans.

Required Experience

• ICU experience is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RRT credential.
• Current Virginia State License.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
