This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule/Shift
The Surgical Technologist will work 40 hours per week, with options for either four (4) 10-hour days or five (5) 8-hour shifts (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM), based on the traveler's preference. There will be at least 2-3 days of call required per week, depending on staffing levels, with weekend call beginning at the end of the Friday shift and lasting until Monday morning at 7:00 AM. Holiday call rotation may apply.
Job Description
The Surgical Technologist will provide support in the operating room during open-heart procedures and will assist in general surgery when the cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) volumes are low. The role demands excellent critical thinking skills and a strong knowledge of central processing and instrumentation.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during open-heart surgeries.
- Prepare, select, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
- Ensure sterile techniques are observed at all times.
- Assist with general surgical procedures as needed.
- Participate in the maintenance of the operating room and equipment.
Required Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of recent open-heart surgical experience.
Certifications/Licensure
- BLS certification required.
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) preferred but not required.
