Schedule/Shift

The schedule consists of 3x12 hour shifts, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, requiring every other weekend availability. Floating within the facility may be necessary based on operational needs.

Job Description

This is a position within the Emergency Department Observation Unit at LBH Northwest Hospital, focusing on adult and geriatric patient care. The unit maintains an expected patient ratio of 1:5 and requires strong cardiac telemetry and observation-level nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult and geriatric patients in an Observation Unit.
• Conduct cardiac telemetry monitoring and manage dysrhythmias.
• Administer blood products and manage central lines, peripheral lines, and PICC lines.
• Perform phlebotomy, IV starts, and maintenance.
• Handle hemodialysis pre/post care and renal failure management.
• Implement isolation precautions and wound care, including VAC therapy.
• Participate in rapid response and code team procedures.

Required Experience

• 7 years of Registered Nurse experience.
• Strong cardiac telemetry experience.
• Experience in ER holding and PCU/Stepdown preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Maryland or compact RN license required upon submission.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required.
