Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week; 2 weekend shifts (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule.
Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Job Description
The Medical/Surgical unit at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, is a 34-bed unit with a patient ratio of 6:1. Nurses on this unit are expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to both patients and their families, utilizing bedside shift reports to foster personal connections and inclusivity in the plan of care. Medical equipment utilized includes IV pumps, telemetry monitors, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, and EKG machines.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Med/Surg setting.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to implement patient care plans.
- Utilize advanced communication technology for efficient coordination of care.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions and vital signs using telemetry.
- Administer medications and medical treatments as prescribed.
- Provide wound care and maintenance for surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes.
Required Experience
- Previous experience in a Med/Surg nursing role is required.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications/Licensure
- Must possess an active RN license.
- BLS certification is required.
