The position involves 5 eight-hour day shifts from 07:00 to 15:30, with weekend call rotation from 7:00 to 13:00 on Saturday and Sunday as scheduled.

Job Description

The registered cardiac sonographer will primarily perform transthoracic echocardiography at Jefferson Medical Center. The professional will be responsible for conducting and assisting with various echocardiogram studies, accurately documenting findings, and collaborating with the cardiologist available for interpretation. Flexibility to cover additional locations, including Berkeley Medical Center and outpatient clinics, may be required. The department utilizes EPIC for charting and a Philips echo machine for imaging.

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic echocardiograms on patients.
• Document diagnostic imaging findings accurately in EPIC.
• Collaborate with cardiologists for patient assessments.
• Assist in starting IVs when qualified and needed.
• Participate in weekend call rotation and other on-call requirements.

Required Experience

One year of experience as a cardiac sonographer is required.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS certification (AHA) is required.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer - Adult Echocardiography (RDCS-AE) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
