This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule/Shift
This position requires a Night Shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a weekly guarantee of 36 hours and potential weekend hours.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will provide care in the Labor and Delivery and Nursery units of a Level 3 OB facility. Responsibilities include monitoring patient health, assisting with deliveries, and neonatal care. The unit generally manages a low volume of patients, averaging less than 15 deliveries per month. The role will involve floating between the nursery and postpartum units as needed.
Responsibilities
- Monitor maternal and fetal health during labor and delivery.
- Provide nursing care in the nursery and postpartum settings.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Educate parents on newborn care and breastfeeding.
- Document patient information accurately in the EHR (Meditech).
Required Experience
Minimum of 1 to 1.5 years of experience in Labor and Delivery and Nursery care.
Certifications/Licensure
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Intermediate fetal monitoring or above
- STABLE certification for nursery care
