Registered Nurse (RN) – Cath Lab

Location: Muskogee, OK 74401
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Schedule: Flexibility in start and end times
On-Call Requirements: One weekend per month and 1–2 days per week

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Cath Lab is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with established nursing standards, hospital policies, and unit procedures. The RN monitors patient conditions, supports cardiac catheterization procedures, and ensures safe, high-quality patient care throughout the treatment process.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized plans of care based on clinical needs and established nursing guidelines.

• Implement and evaluate nursing interventions using the nursing process.

• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.

• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac care, disease management, and the biopsychosocial model.

• Perform nursing skills appropriate to the patient population and clinical setting.

• Prioritize patient care activities and anticipate unit needs.

• Delegate tasks appropriately and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation using appropriate medical terminology.

• Monitor patient progress and address care-related concerns according to hospital policies.

• Provide patient and family education, including discharge instructions and follow-up care.

• Coordinate referrals and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, educational activities, and mandatory training.

• Complete incident and variance reports accurately and in accordance with facility policies.

• Exercise sound clinical judgment and independent decision-making within the scope of practice.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited professional nursing program.

• Valid Oklahoma RN license or eligible multistate compact RN license.

• Epic EMR experience required.

• Working knowledge of disease management processes, clinical pathways, and the biopsychosocial model.

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage clinical responsibilities efficiently.

• Strong attention to detail when reviewing clinical and numerical data.

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Required Clinical Skills

• Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) experience

• Cardiac critical care and hemodynamic monitoring

• Cardiac rhythm interpretation

• Intravenous sedation

Preferred Qualifications

• Cupid experience preferred.

Candidates must meet all applicable nursing licensure and certification requirements and be available to fulfill the specified weekday schedule and on-call responsibilities.
