Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Duration: 13 weeks
Location: 1425 Portland Ave Bldg 3 Rochester, NY 14621
Schedule: Floating Shift 3*12s 36hours/week

Weekend: Every Other Weekend (EOW)

On-Call: None

Experience: First-time travelers accepted

Local Radius: RNs within 75 miles not accepted; LPN locals accepted

License: Active NY Single State RN/LPN license required (No pending license; NY is not Compact)

Certifications: ACLS/OB-ACLS, BLS, EFM, NRP

Charting: EPIC experience required; CPN/Client Centricity

Holiday: Must be available every other holiday as needed

RTO: All requests must be submitted at the time of submission

Cancellation: Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract

Floating: Required within skillset

Scrubs: Hospital provided

Required Clinical Skills:

Assist with vaginal deliveries; circulate and recover C-sections

Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, and Terbutaline administration

APGAR scoring, newborn care, baby nurse responsibilities, and ID/security banding

Radiant warmer and neonatal thermoregulation

Foley catheter insertion and management

Fundus, lochia, and perineal care

Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) and Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension (PIH) management

NST, EFM monitoring, and IUPC placement/calibration

Unit Details & Equipment:

Cares for pregnant patients of all gestational ages and postpartum patients up to 6 weeks

Labor triage for all gestational ages

Client fetal/telemetry monitors, Monica wireless fetal monitoring, Neopuff, and Draeger newborn warmers

Private birthing suites with on-unit ORs

Facility: Rochester General Hospital – Twig Birthing Center, Rochester, NY. 528-bed Magnet-recognized teaching hospital.
