Title: Registered Nurse - CVICU
Duration: 13 weeks
Location: 1425 Portland Ave Bldg 3 Rochester, NY 14621
Schedule: Night Shift 4*12s 48hours/week

• Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM

• Contract: 13 weeks

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed

• RTO/Block Requests: Must be submitted at the time of submission

• Call-Off Policy: Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract without charges.

• Local Radius: RNs within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted.

• Charting: EPIC experience required

• License: Active NY Single-State RN license in hand; pending licenses not accepted (NY is not Compact)

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required. Valid NIHSS must be included in submittal.

• Patient Ratio: 1:2; Impella patients 1:2, occasionally 1:1 depending on acuity

• Unit Size: 16 beds

• Patient Population: Sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management, respiratory failure/shock, CRRT, EKOS, IABP, and ECMO.

• Required Clinical Skills:

  • Arterial line, central line, and PICC line management

  • Blood product administration

  • Ventilator management, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation

  • Chest tube insertion/removal assistance and ventilated patient care

  • Continuous IV sedation, paralytics, emergency medications, and procedural sedation

  • Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips

  • CABG, Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, and Swan-Ganz monitoring

  • CVVHD/CRRT

  • Dysrhythmia interpretation/management and 12-lead EKG acquisition

  • Infection prevention, PPE use, wound vac care, and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure management

• Floating: Required within skillset

• Scrubs: Any combination of navy blue and white
