Description
Specialty Surgery is a 31-bed unit with private rooms serving the bariatric, benign esophageal, colorectal, and pancreatic hepatic biliary surgical patient population. The Specialty Surgery unit staff provides skilled nursing with drains, colostomy’s, ileostomy’s, and complex wound care, as well as central line care and foley care. The Specialty Surgery unit is within the Gastrointestinal and GI Surgery division which was ranked as one of America’s best within this specialty in the U.S. News & World Report, 2023-2024 rankings.
Based on our recent nursing leadership redesign, we are excited to add this new position to our nursing leadership team. Under supervision of the senior nurse manager or director, provides clinical and administrative support to staff providing direct/indirect care to patients on a specific unit. May be called on to deliver nursing care to patients on assigned unit according to established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. Responsible to assist with daily clinical operations and assists with the quality/safety, patient experience, financial management of the assigned unit. Assists in interviews and makes hiring decisions as required. Assigns work to and participates in the evaluation of the employees supervised. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
- FL RN license, or multistate RN license, required.
- BSN required.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as an RN.
