Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in the NICU and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a healthcare facility. This role involves providing advanced respiratory care to critically ill pediatric patients, including high-risk deliveries, mechanical ventilation setup, and transport of patients. The position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized unit with state-of-the-art equipment and collaborative team support.

Job Details

• Position: Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS)
• Location: NICU/PICU at a healthcare facility
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS, and STABLE required
• Education and Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist; 0 years minimum experience required for specific skills training
• Schedule: Nights Shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Must attend all high-risk deliveries; capable of setting up mechanical ventilation for NICU and PICU patients; experienced in working in Pediatric Emergency Departments including intubations, ventilation, and transporting critically ill patients
• Additional Job Responsibilities: Perform procedures such as arterial blood gas puncture, UVC, UAC, and PAL line draws, heel sticks, inline inhaled nitric oxide, and patient intubations when qualified
• Preferred Qualifications: Ability to intubate all patient sizes is a plus; experience with inhaled nitric oxide inline on respiratory equipment preferred
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates should be prepared to submit unit-specific policies and demonstrate proficiency with current equipment such as Draeger, Hamilton T1 and C1, HFJV, HFOV, iNO, Vapotherm, vest, and cough assist devices.
