Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in Nebraska is responsible for providing specialized respiratory therapy services to pediatric, neonatal, and adult patients in a high-acuity environment. This position requires expertise in neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, and adult critical care, supporting a variety of patient needs across different age groups and clinical settings.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Active Nebraska license, minimum 2 years of NICU, PICU, and adult respiratory therapy experience; high school diploma or equivalent; active AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include basic floor care respiratory therapy procedures such as nebulizers, metered-dose inhalers, bronchial hygiene (CPT), volume expansion (PEP), CPAP and BiPAP for all ages (infant to geriatric).
• Clinical duties involve working with ventilators such as Servoi, SiPAP, and Sensormedics 3100A (HFOV), blood gas analysis, and electronic charting.
• Experience in neonatal intensive care (NICU Level 4 with L&D), pediatric intensive care (PICU Level 1 trauma, transplant), and adult intensive care units (AICU) is required.
• Equipment utilized includes ventilators, electronic charting systems, supply and medication pyxis machines, with familiarity in EPIC charting preferred.
• Support staff includes a lead therapist available 24/7 during shifts.
• Willing to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment with varied patient caseloads.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in intensive care therapy is required.
• Specific skills include familiarity with electronic medical records, ventilator extubation protocols, blood gas analysis, and neonatal and pediatric advanced life support techniques.
• The position involves working in a specialized clinical environment with clinical and operational responsibilities as outlined.
