Job Summary

Cardiovascular Technologist, Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist. The Cardiovascular Technologist assists physicians with invasive cardiac, peripheral diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures, including temporary and permanent pacemaker placement. The role also supports hemodynamic monitoring, circulatory support devices, vascular access, sterile procedural preparation, and catheterization laboratory operations.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technologist, radiologic technologist, or applied science program; a minimum of two years of experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory or invasive procedure area in an acute care setting; Basic Health Care Life Support Health Care Professional (HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within three months of employment; successful completion of the Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) examination within one year of hire or a Radiologic Technologist license; experience with manifold systems, scrub assistance, and table-side procedures; familiarity with computers, hemodynamic monitoring, and sterile operative techniques; proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office or Google Suite; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 AM5:00 PM, four 10-hour shifts per week, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities are required.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include preparing sterile trays and procedural equipment; assisting with patient positioning, monitoring, vascular access, sheath removal, hemostatic closure devices, and radial access banding; calibrating transducers and hemodynamic monitoring equipment; calculating and recording cardiac output and oximetry readings; operating power injectors and digital cine technology; recognizing and interpreting cardiac arrhythmias; supporting temporary and permanent pacemaker procedures and circulatory support devices; maintaining equipment, inventory, and required supply levels; following Clinical Cardiovascular Information Systems (CVIS) procedures and radiation safety standards; and modifying care to address the developmental, cultural, language, hearing, and visual needs of the patient population. The role requires the ability to lift at least 40 pounds, push and pull at least 100 pounds, and stand for at least four hours per day.
