Job Summary

Polysomnographer, Polysomnography Location not provided. The role supports sleep study services for adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients, including polysomnography, respiratory monitoring, patient education, and related diagnostic procedures. The position requires one year of experience, a Respiratory Care Practitioners License, and specified respiratory and sleep-study certifications.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts are 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend coverage includes night shifts, and availability for three of five designated holidays is required.
• Required Qualifications:
  • One year of experience
  • Respiratory Care Practitioners License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), RPSGT, RRT, and SDS certifications; RPSGT or RRT with SDS accepted
  • Required charting system experience
  • Experience with end-tidal carbon dioxide monitoring, adult and pediatric multiple sleep latency testing, baseline sleep polysomnography, bilevel positive airway pressure, continuous positive airway pressure, electrocardiography, electroencephalography, home sleep testing, oxygen administration, patient education, polysomnography scoring, respiratory event monitoring, sleep staging, seizure studies, and respiratory inductance plethysmography
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a community hospital setting preferred.
• Additional Information:
  • Patient care ratios are 1:2 for adults and 1:1 for pediatric patients.
  • The role serves adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatric patients.
  • The unit includes six rooms and uses Alice sleep-study software and ResMed continuous positive airway pressure equipment.
  • A 40-hour orientation is provided.
