Job Summary

Occupational Therapist Assistant Occupational Therapist SNF Massachusetts. The Occupational Therapist Assistant provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment for patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist. The role supports evidence-based interventions, patient progress assessment, treatment documentation, and collaboration with patients, families, caregivers, and the healthcare team.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Active Occupational Therapist Assistant license; at least 1 year of Occupational Therapist Assistant experience; long-term care or rehabilitation experience; Massachusetts licensure or registration when applicable. New graduates may be considered with Level II clinical experience beyond observation-only Level I experience.
• Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: Provide treatment interventions, including activities of daily living retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices. Assess patient progress, communicate treatment outcomes, contribute to discharge planning, document clinical information, record treatment minutes, participate in patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings, obtain necessary durable medical equipment and supplies, and support students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.
• Additional Information: Practice must comply with applicable regulatory requirements, clinical practice standards, professional ethics, state practice acts, and Occupational Therapist Assistant professional standards. The role requires effective communication regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans, as well as participation in required training, in-service education, and conferences.
