Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist Registered, RT PEDS, provides respiratory care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients across acute and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include breathing treatments, arterial blood gases, capillary sticks for I-Stat testing, respiratory equipment management, and assisting with intubations.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications; WV CARES required before start; minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients; experience in inpatient, emergency, rehabilitation, post-anesthesia, skilled nursing, endoscopy, cardiac catheterization, same-day surgery, and outpatient settings.
• Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Available schedules include 6:30 p.m.6:30 a.m. or a mid-shift schedule of 2:15 p.m.10:45 p.m. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend according to the rotating schedule, and holiday coverage may be required.
• Additional Information: Clinical responsibilities include floor duties, breathing treatments, arterial blood gases, capillary sticks for I-Stat testing, respiratory equipment management, and assisting with intubations. Patient care areas include medical-surgical, progressive care, intensive care, emergency, rehabilitation, post-anesthesia, skilled nursing, endoscopy, cardiac catheterization, same-day surgery, and outpatient services. Orientation consists of 13 shifts with a preceptor as needed. Teal scrubs are required, with acceptable patterned scrub shirts permitted.
