Job Summary

Ultrasonographer, Echo Sonora. Performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations to create images of the heart, chambers, valves, and vessels for evaluating cardiac function. Collaborates with cardiologists, provides patient care, evaluates imaging findings, and maintains accurate cardiac measurements and records.

Job Details

• Schedule: Evening shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent; currently certified or eligible for certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved provider.
• Preferred Qualifications: Echocardiography certification.
• Additional Information:
  • Performs echocardiography examinations, including treadmill studies, to assess cardiac function.
  • Prepares patients by positioning them, applying gel, attaching electrodes, verifying wave signals, and recording diagnostic images.
  • Reviews medical records and interviews patients to adapt sonographic techniques.
  • Sets up and maintains ultrasound and recording equipment, inventories supplies, and enters patient information into appropriate systems.
  • Communicates cardiac findings and measurements to cardiologists.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and participates in continuing education and professional development.
