Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist, Pediatrics, Ottumwa, Iowa. The position provides respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients during 12-hour night shifts. Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment implementation, management of invasive and non-invasive equipment, and support during high-risk deliveries.

Job Details

Schedule: Night shifts from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., 12 hours per shift, with 36 hours per week. Monday or Tuesday starts are available.
Required Qualifications:
- Respiratory Therapist certification or registration with current National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications
- Associate degree in respiratory care
- Iowa license in hand at the time of submission
- 12 years of experience
- Neonatal and pediatric experience
- Iowa SING background check cleared, including criminal and child abuse portions
- Fully cleared county and state background checks before starting
- Current mandatory reporter certification for child and adult reporting
- Completion of a 10-panel drug screening, including opiates
Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric and neonatal respiratory care experience.
Additional Information: Responsibilities include patient assessment, implementation of treatments and therapies, care during high-risk deliveries, management of invasive and non-invasive respiratory equipment, and application of strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. The patient population includes neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients. Equipment includes V-60, VOCSN, Hamilton, Vapotherm, and Airvo2 systems. An Iowa license application must be completed before submission.
