Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist Registered, RT PEDS, Bay Area. The respiratory therapist provides care across critical care, emergency, neonatal intensive care, medical-surgical, and telemetry settings. Responsibilities include respiratory assessment, therapy administration, mechanical ventilation management, airway support, emergency response, and neonatal stabilization.

Job Details

Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; rotating weekends.
Required Qualifications: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license through the Texas Medical Board; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; adult critical care experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience; experience using oscillators, InoMax, 980 ventilators, Hamilton C6 ventilators, and Vapotherm; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Additional Information: Responsibilities include assessing patients; administering oxygen, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy; assisting with bronchoscopies and artificial airway placement; initiating, monitoring, and maintaining mechanical ventilation; transporting ventilator-dependent patients; responding to emergency situations; supporting airway integrity and ventilation during resuscitation; assisting with high-risk deliveries requiring neonatal stabilization or resuscitation; educating patients, families, and staff; and setting up, operating, cleaning, sterilizing, and storing respiratory therapy equipment.
