Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered, RT PEDS: Provides respiratory care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in medical, intermediate, and intensive care settings. The position involves 12-hour night shifts and requires critical care experience in a large healthcare facility.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); active Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; at least 2 years of experience, including critical care experience in a facility with 300 or more beds.
- Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, generally 6:30 a.m.7:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.7:00 a.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week; every other weekend and every other holiday.
- Additional Information: Respiratory care is provided for general medical, intermediate, and intensive care patients, including adults, pediatric patients, and neonates. The role includes approximately 2628 daily treatment points and use of mechanical ventilation, continuous positive airway pressure, bilevel positive airway pressure, and heated high-flow oxygen equipment. Department orientation includes equipment and specialty-item review followed by precepted shifts.
