Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist Registered, RT PEDS, Long Beach, California: The respiratory therapist will provide respiratory care for neonates, infants, pediatric patients, and adolescents on 12-hour night shifts. The role includes pediatric respiratory support, critical-care interventions, participation in high-risk deliveries, and rotation to areas of need.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: California state license in hand; Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Respiratory Therapist Registered (RRT) credentials; minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric respiratory care experience, with preference for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), or general pediatric experience.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The role supports neonates, infants, pediatric patients, and adolescents and requires every-other-week call coverage. Clinical responsibilities may include managing bubble continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), ventilators, high-frequency oscillatory ventilation, high-frequency jet ventilation, servo ventilators, and home ventilators. The position also involves respiratory assessments, airway management, mechanical ventilation, arterial blood gas interpretation, neonatal transports, tracheostomy care, pulmonary hygiene, and support during high-risk deliveries. Electronic charting and medication-dispensing systems are used.
