Job Summary

Physical Therapist, Outpatient. Provides physical therapy services for adult and pediatric patients in an outpatient setting, focusing on restoring function and preventing disability. Evaluates patients, establishes measurable treatment goals, develops individualized treatment plans, administers therapeutic interventions, and documents patient progress and outcomes.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; bachelors degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited physical therapy program; licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Evaluates new patients, performs diagnostic muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability testing, and modifies treatment plans based on patient progress. Provides patient and family education, communicates with medical and allied health personnel regarding care and discharge planning, and provides guidance to Physical Therapist Assistants, aides, and affiliating students. Maintains documentation, departmental standards, quality improvement initiatives, and safety, environmental, and infection control practices. Participation in approved education programs, in-service meetings, workshops, and required meetings may be expected. Clinical specialists serve as resources for rehabilitation staff within a focused area of expertise and may assist with planning, development, organization, and supervision of the designated clinical specialty area.
