Job Summary

Vascular Sonographer, Vascular Sonographer: The Vascular Sonographer performs ultrasound and sonography procedures, prepares and positions patients, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures high-quality images. The role supports patient flow, quality services, equipment quality assurance, and collaboration among physicians, technologists, and department support staff.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology or Sonography Technology; Basic or Advanced Life Support certification; one of the following vascular credentials: Registered Vascular Sonographer (ARRT-VS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS); and one or more of the following credentials: Registered Sonographer (ARRT-S), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS). Ability to lift and maneuver patients in conjunction with others is required.
• Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations, explaining procedures, positioning patients, monitoring patient data and pertinent health history, reviewing incomplete examinations and unsigned reports, supporting patient flow, mentoring less experienced technologists, introducing new techniques, performing ultrasound equipment quality assurance, recommending equipment modifications, and identifying and helping resolve equipment malfunctions.
