Description

Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist, RT PEDS, Milwaukee, WI. This position provides respiratory care for primarily adult and geriatric patients, with some pediatric patients in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include ventilator management, respiratory treatments, airway support, blood gas analysis, and collaboration with providers during intubation and extubation.

Job Details

Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; minimum of 1 year of experience; proficiency with ventilator management, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP), nebulizer treatments, arterial line placement, assisting with intubation, ventilator weaning, extubation, and arterial blood gases (ABGs).
Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: Patient assignments may include approximately 1015 patients on general floors and 68 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), depending on acuity. Clinical responsibilities include caring for adult, geriatric, and some pediatric patients; operating and managing ventilators; supporting airway procedures; and providing respiratory treatments.
