Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist, RT PEDS. The Respiratory Therapist provides care for pediatric, adult, and neonatal patients across general medical, intermediate, and intensive care settings. The role supports respiratory treatments and critical care services on a 12-hour day-shift schedule.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); at least 2 years of experience; experience in critical care at a facility with 300 or more beds; active Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated.
- Preferred Qualifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred over Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
- Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Respiratory therapy services include approximately 2628 treatment points per day using the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) point system. Patient care includes general medical, intermediate, and intensive care populations. Equipment includes Servo U, Servo i, LTV, Trilogy, ResMed S9, and Fisher & Paykel heated high-flow systems. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, including Saturday and Sunday. Holiday coverage is required every other holiday. Department orientation includes ventilator review, IPV and specialty-item review, electronic medical record training, and precepted shifts.
