Job Summary

Registered Respiratory Therapist Respiratory Therapist Registered. The position provides respiratory care under physician direction, including airway management, oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, ventilator support, and patient education. The role supports critical care patients through ongoing respiratory assessment, blood-gas evaluation, ventilator management, and weaning from mechanical ventilation.

Job Details

Required Qualifications: Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) status; current state Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications: One year of work experience in an adult critical care setting; experience in pediatric or neonatal care; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Responsibilities: Administer respiratory care, including aerosol medications, oxygen therapy, airway management, and secretion management. Educate patients regarding bronchodilator use, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) equipment, tobacco use, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma management, and medication use. Intubate critical care patients as directed, manage specialized ventilator modes, monitor intubated patients, conduct spontaneous breathing trials, evaluate blood-gas levels through arterial punctures, adjust respiratory equipment, and guide patients through breathing exercises.
Assignment Period: 11/30/2026 through 03/01/2027.
