Job Summary

Ultrasonographer, General Specialty. The ultrasonographer performs diagnostic sonographic procedures, obtains and documents quality images, and supports physicians and other qualified healthcare professionals in the diagnostic process. The role also maintains equipment, applies infection prevention techniques, reviews relevant patient information, and performs general abdominal, small parts, obstetric-gynecologic, and limited vascular sonography.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN); ability to perform general abdominal, small parts, obstetric-gynecologic, and limited vascular sonography; knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, ultrasound physics, safety procedures, diagnostic equipment, and electronic image processing systems; ability to communicate effectively, follow written and oral instructions, interpret physician instructions and clinical records, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively as part of a team.
• Preferred Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience in obstetric-gynecologic sonography.
• Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per shift, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week; no weekends currently scheduled.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include operating ultrasound equipment; producing, processing, and presenting diagnostic images; performing basic Doppler studies; documenting observations and required views; reviewing patient medical histories and prior examinations for comparison; maintaining equipment and accessories; applying appropriate probe handling and cleaning procedures; performing infection prevention techniques; and completing examinations within required time frames.
