Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Therapist Registered. The role provides respiratory therapy services and life support under the direction of a physician for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities. Responsibilities include evaluating treatment needs, operating respiratory equipment, monitoring patient responses, and responding to code situations across patient populations and service areas.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care-approved respiratory program.
  • At least 2 years of experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RTT) credential.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification may be required for certain facilities.
  • New York or Maryland state license.
• Additional Information:
  • Reviews prescriptions, measures arterial blood gases, and assesses patient conditions to determine treatment requirements.
  • Evaluates medical orders and interprets clinical data to support patient care objectives.
  • Sets up, operates, inspects, and tests mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
  • Monitors vital signs, arterial blood gases, blood chemistry changes, and other physiological responses to therapy.
  • Performs bronchopulmonary drainage, breathing exercises, and pulmonary function testing.
  • Maintains patient charts with relevant identification and therapy information.
  • Assists with transporting mechanically ventilated patients and responds to code situations.
  • Assignment period: 11/15/2026 through 12/26/2026.
