Job Summary

Technologist, Cardiac Cath Lab Cardiac Cath Lab specialty. The technologist performs procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, operates specialized equipment, monitors patients, and supports emergency patient care. The role also supports staff training across scrub, circulate, and monitor responsibilities.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shift with 10-hour shifts and a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an Allied Health Services Radiologic or Cardiovascular Technology Invasive Program.
  • Completion of 500 hours of percutaneous coronary intervention experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory within a hospital offering an open-heart surgery program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a registered radiologic technologist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • One of the following credentials: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Candidates applying with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification must hold an applicable state license at submission.
• Additional Information:
  • Performs cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures and operates specialized equipment, including picture archiving and communication systems and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
  • Provides scrub support by preparing and draping patients and assisting with wires, needles, catheters, and medications.
  • Provides circulating support by supplying equipment, attending to patient needs, and managing intravenous medications.
  • Provides monitoring support by observing vital signs, documenting procedures, recording intracardiac and peripheral pressures, and coordinating interdepartmental communications.
  • Supports care for patients ranging from pediatric through geriatric populations.
  • Trains staff technologists in cardiac catheterization laboratory roles.
