Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist Registered, RT PEDS Location not provided. The position provides respiratory care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients across general medical, intermediate, and intensive care settings. The assignment is scheduled for 12-hour night shifts and requires critical care experience in a large acute care facility.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; 36 hours per week. Every other weekend and every other holiday are required. The assignment runs from 11/16/2026 through 02/15/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential; active Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; at least 2 years of experience in critical care at a large acute care facility with 300 beds or more.
• Preferred Qualifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials are preferred over Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credentials.
• Additional Information:
  • Respiratory care is provided for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in general medical, intermediate, and intensive care settings.
  • The expected workload is approximately 2628 treatment points per day using the designated point system.
  • Primary equipment includes Servo U, Servo i, and LTV ventilators; Trilogy devices; ResMed S9 continuous positive airway pressure and bilevel positive airway pressure equipment; and Fisher & Paykel heated high-flow equipment.
  • No floating is required within respiratory therapy.
  • Orientation includes equipment and specialty-item review followed by precepted shifts before independent practice.
  • Scrubs of any color may be worn and are not provided.
